What I did on my summer vacation

July 31, 2010

I camped at Yosemite.

Note bear-proof food canister at right.

I cooked breakfast.

I cleaned house.

I hiked.

I saw bear sign.

I did not feed the animals.

I avoided other hikers.

I watched the sun rise over the mountain in Yosemite.

I watched birds. (Acorn Woodpecker, Pt. Reyes National Seashore)

I saw the world’s oldest trees, the Bristlecone Pines of the White Mountains in California.

I admired the scenery . . .

. . . and drove a sporty red rental car.

I inspected wildflowers.

I visited Mt. St. Helens Volcanic National Park.

I visited relatives.

I went to an ocean beach (Punta de los Reyes in the distance).

I decided not to swim at Point Reyes National Seashore.
