Happy Wednesday. Wet here. Birds chirping over their grubby meals.

Notta lotta stuff going on here. I finished listening to the audio book about Theodore Roosevelt in the Amazon. Good story. TR emerged from the jungle onto a major tributary to the Amazon deathly ill from malaria and an infected leg injury. It took another two weeks to get him to Manaus and then he headed to NYC. He died a couple of years later. The trip probably shortened his life. His son Kermit, who was also on the expedition, returned to marry a socialite, but the marriage went bad due to his drinking and womanizing and bouts of depression. He was posted to Alaska during WWII and shot himself after inspecting Fort Richardson in 1943. For adventure lovers, the book is The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt’s Darkest Journey.
