Happy Tues. The world appears to continue to exist, despite the millennial anxiety produced by the conjunction of a full lunar eclipse and the onset of the Winter Solstice. We watched the eclipse intermittently, beginning about 9:30 and ending about 12:15 when thin clouds began to obscure the celestial orbs from view. I set up the telescope to watch through the living room window because the -15 temperature outdoors was a bit nippy for moon-gazing.
